Grabbed some live snappers at the marina and hit FI Inlet. Fished the very start of the flood and had some fluke to 20 inches. Right at dusk a fish takes my snapper and it turned out to be a 19inch Weakfish. First one of the summer so far and I love to see them put in an appearance.

We are officially in summer mode. Hot weather and nasty condtions in the inlet have kept effort down outside. The striper bite on the bunker has quieted down. There are still some rumors of fish in the early morning on the pods which are pretty scattered now. BIG bluefish are also available at times but not very predictable.
Fluke fishing is RED hot with a LOT of action. Some keepers are mixed in to keep it interesting.
Good dates available if you would like to spend a nice day on the water :-)

After getting home from a beautiful vacation in Newport RI I took an early evening run. Following a trip through a very lumpy FI Inlet I found big schools of bunker being tore up by LARGE bluefish. Had a blast on these brutes for a couple hours. The largest pulled the Boga down to 15lbs. Big and Angry Bluefish at their best!!!!!

7/5/10
Fished a morning trip with Mike Borg, his partner Gus and Gus' daughter Kerry aboard. We targetted the big schools of bunker outside FI Inlet. We had a late start and had to work hard to find pods of bait that held fish. Had bluefish bite off a couple baits as well as a LARGE blue bite through the mono leader at the boat.
After much hunting around Mike was able to hook-up with a nice fish going 24lbs.

Awesome morning on the ocean today. Colorful sunrise and plenty of BIG STRIPERS!!!! Had a 3 hour window this morning and landed 3 fish, 39lbs, 38lbs (kept her) and 27lbs outside on the bunker :-) I saw a LOT of BIG fish caught this morning. Hot bite going on out there!!!!! Pictured here is the bass that weighed 38lbs on the Seaborn Marina scales

Beautiful Sunrise out there this morning, great time on the water!!!!!!!!

Fished today with Gil and his Dad, Gil Sr. Gil nailed this 28lb fish on live bait. Also fed some to the bluefish. I'm sorry to say that Gil Sr had some technical difficulties fishing the live bait as he suffered through 3-4 swings and misses. A great day on the water with two great guys.

Had Pete Hansen and his buddy Bob out today for Striped Bass. Took the fellas a few missed shots before getting the hang of fishing the live baits but Pete finally stuck a large fished that was lost boatside and boated the pictured 14lb fish. Bluefish were tough on the live bait today. Had a blast with great company today. Thanks guys,

We fluke fished in the bay today and while quality was not there the quantity sure was. We had at least 50 fish with approximately 10 of them 18-19 inches. Not a single keeper. BIG TIME swell outside had us locked up in the bay.
6/4/10
A couple of late afternoon/early evening trips this week produced non-stop action with bluefish in the 3-5 pound range. Lots of action and they were on anything thrown their direction :-)
5/21/10
Fished an exploratory run tonight. Plugged several locations way back in the bay and found stripers willing to take topwater plugs. A move back closer to the inlet found schools of 3-5lb bluefish in every direction. Lock and load fishing till sundown. Nice night out there tonight and the fish were very cooperative

5/17/10- Riverview Spring Striper Tournament

Fished this contest today. Making bait was tough and we experienced a tough day as a result. We only managed one bass in the boat that was good enough to place. Always a great time in the Riverview contests and even with the tough fishing this was no different.
28 lb fish won with 2nd and 3rd places going in the low 20 lb class.

5/15/10- Fluke Opening Day

We were out today for the Fluke opener. Wind was howling 20-25 knots. A 1/4 mile out of the creek we came across huge flocks of birds screaming and diving on shoals of bait being chased by bluefish. Bucktails thrown into the melee were immediately jumped on. For the next 3 hours it was all the 3-5 lb blues we could handle.
With weary arms we took off after the fluke. The wind kept us in the bay and in tough conditions we picked some short fluke with the best going 20 inches.

3/28/10- Getting Ready
Spent a windy day at the marina today getting the boat ready for launch. Cut the wrap off, washed and waxed, polished up the bright-work. Just have some minor items to finish up and then will hand her over to the Seaborn yard for the engines and bottom paint.
