Fire Island Fishing Report- Ocean Bunker Pods

We worked over the schools for a while, snagging and swimming them for striped bass and some bluefish bite-offs before heading inside to drift some pieces in the bay. Well, the bluefish had the feedbags on as each live bunker that was put down was almost immediately cut in half by them. It seemed the blues were on the baits so quickly that any stripers in the area would not get a chance to see them.

Fire Island Fishing Report- June Moon Striped Bass

Took some jockeying around on some of my favorite spots before getting on them pretty good. Once I got lined up I had 3 very nice fish over the course of an hour.

Fire Island Fishing- Working Over the Ocean Bunker Schools

I was forced to shake out enough baitfish to let me swing the remainder aboard. With that taken care of thirty choice bunker were added to the livewell and it was time to fish!!

Fire Island Fishing Report- Fluke and Bluefish Action in Good Shape

My first fluke drifts of the day were back in the bay and there was some fish to be had but the slipgut weed was […]

Great South Bay Bluefish Invasion

I fished a solo evening trip over this past weekend with the hope of finding some of the "mythical" Great South Bay weakfish. Pulled out of the marina at 5:30pm and arrived at my first location right on time. The ebb current was just beginning to build on this particular back bay location
