Heading west we worked a few promising areas with lots of bait showing on the finder but no fish on them. Before long we got on an area lit up with the same bluefish as yesterday's trip
Dropped the jigs and it was game on for the rest of the day as we jigged huge bluefish till our arms were aching. As the sun was getting down we headed back and came across a school of nice size stripers rolling on the surface.
We got the chumslick going and was not long before the guys were locked and loaded with stripers. We ended the day with right around 40 fish ranging from tiny school size stripers up to 30-31 inch keeper sized.
It was a simply amazing day weather-wise as catching striped bass in shorts and tee-shirts is not something we get to experience very often.
Jumped from school to school without another bite before deciding to start working my way back to the inlet. Good move as I came across a large area with many schools being pushed and slammed into by gamefish from below
We drifted live baits over a large variety of favorite bottom locations but only had a single bluefish and a few other biteoffs to show for it.
