Long Island Fishing Updates- Long Island Fishing News from Maybe Tonight Fishing Charters
On August 2nd 2014 Lighthouse Marina, Long Island's exclusive Southport Boats dealer, hosted a Demo Day for the new Southport 33 FE center console. The event was hosted by Lighthouse Marina's Sales Manager Andrew Galasso and Southport Boats Managing Director, Skip Robinson.
However, another dredging operation kicked off just this past week that is pumping sand from the State Boat Channel across the bay onto the beach front at Moses park. The dredge itself is working the shoal area of the State Channel just to the West of the drawbridge
MARK YOUR CALENDARS for this event for a very nice cause. The Ward Melville High School Fishing Club is hosting their Second Annual fund raiser for the kids and their fishing related activities. 2013 was the first one and it was VERY well attended and this year's is lining up to be even bigger.
Of course before heading to Seaborn I just had to take a detour down around the Fire Island Inlet area for a little recon. The inlet itself showed signs of the shoaling that has been well documented this winter. It was very obvious that some pieces were going to be high and dry on the lower tidal stages.
When the thermometer hit 70 this past weekend I had seen enough and decided it was time. With the tugging of a couple of bungees cords, and the swift pull of the canvas, off the cover came. I was able to get some of the punch list items started and get the parts ordered for the motor's.
I have plans to visit the Atlantic City Boat Show on Saturday Feb 4th and am going to have a go with the first LIVE event that morning while strolling the floor of the show. It remains to be seen what sort of cell service I will have while in the Convention Center but with any service at all I will be coming to you LIVE from the show
