My buddy Dennis and I departed the dock at 6:30am today and cruised across the Great South Bay in the 32 degree temps with a decent northwest breeze added.

We found nice signs of life just about immediately outside Fire Island Inlet, marking large schools of bunker on the fishfinder. We worked over a bunch of different schools before finally connecting with what turned out to be the best one of the trip. A decent striped bass around 20-22lbs in the boat, un-hooked and safely released.

4 more fish in the teens size class rounded out the catch and we bagged around 2:30pm and headed to the barn. Boat traffic was INCREDIBLE today but still another fun day on the ocean today
