Left my marina at 7am on this gray, dreary day and headed across Great South Bay. Plan was to fish the ocean and then as the current changed in Fire Island Inlet come back inside.

Found large schools of bunker holding to the bottom and did the snag and drag thing, worked over the schools from one to the next and managed to find two fish in the low 20lb range. I did see several VERY big fish landed on other boats in the area including at 45+lb caught by a good friend of mine.

Headed back into the now STIFF East wind and fished well back in the Great South Bay. Started off very slow but as the current built the bite was on fire. Managed to land 10 more fish to 25lbs before the current slacked and bite turned off.

Crazy weather but awesome fishing made with well worth the trip
