Took another run late yesterday afternoon to get a little break from the heat here on Long Island. I got on the fishing grounds right at the start of the outgoing current which as I have mentioned in previous report is not really the preferred option but……..

Well, this trip the outgoing worked out pretty well. Was marking a lot of bait schools near the bottom and the fluke were on them. I fished a couple of hours till sundown and caught 20 or so fish ranging from 10-18 inches and two more legal sized fish in the 20inch size class. All fish were released tonight to fight again at a future date.

Very nice weather on the water with hardly a breath of wind and some good fluke action. I’d have to say the fluke fishing on Great South Bay is pretty darn good right now
